The Reading Room of the Institute of Design is a space of cultural, educational and artistic quest. Its aim is to promote the merits and significance of design, but also of books, lettering, poster and innovative packaging. The collection contains over 800 volumes from the field of ceramics, glass, design, architecture, graphic design, materials and technology, as well as the history and theory of design and visual communication.
All the publications are catalogued on an ongoing basis and available online. Visitors have access to a range of periodicals and magazines connected with design, e.g. Wallpaper, Interramus, Form, Mark, Frame, Elephant, 2+3D, Świat Architektury.
The Reading Room is also a venue of meetings with designers, promotions of new design books and publications, exhibitions of posters, illustrations and graphic art.
